Pattie’s Pointer: What a beautifully elegant accent for that evening at the symphony...and when not in use, you can fill it with a netted bag of potpourri and hang it in a special spot in the boudoir to add an aromatic flair to the room!

Steps:
1. Draw purse pattern by drawing a 9 x 14 inch oval on paper. Mark center
fold of oval. Cut out. Fold oval in half and trace on second sheet of
paper. Cut out.
2. Lay patterns on velvet and cut out. Lay patterns on satin and cut out.
3. Sew the velvet oval to the satin oval, wrong sides together with zigzag
stitch around edges. Lay aside.
4. Sew the velvet half-oval to the satin half-oval, wrong sides together,
along straight edge, with a straight 1/2 inch seam. Turn and finger press.
Sew edges together with zigzag stitch.
5. Pin finished half-oval to finished oval, with satin sides together. Sew
upholstery trim around pinned edges to hold purse together.
6. Fold down purse flap and glue assorted trims to front of purse.
7. Glue satin roses along trim edges. Glue on tassel.
8. Hand sew buttons on trim edges.
9. Tie knots in both ends of cording and hand sew to purse fold, for
shoulder strap.
