Tissue Paper Flowers
Designed by Pattie Donham

CBS Channel Six in the A.M.

Supplies:
Tissue Paper
Scissors
Chenille Stems
Assorted Beads
Heavy Floral Wire (for stems)
Floral Tape
Aleene's® Tacky Glue

Steps:
1. Cut tissue paper into strips that are twice as wide as you want your finished flower to be.
2. Lay 4 pieces of tissue on top of each other. Fan-fold into 1-inch folds from one end to the other. Wrap a chenille stem around the center and twist to secure.
3. Bend 2 chenille stems in half and glue beads to the ends. Wrap the beaded chenille stems around the center and twist together for stamens.
4. Bend heavy floral wire into a crook at one end. Hook around the center of the flower and twist wire together to secure.
5. Gently separate the tissue paper to create a flower around the beaded stamens.
6. Cover the entire stem with floral tape to complete.

Pattie's Pointer:
Decorate for a teen’s room or a retro party with oodles of these cute tissue paper flowers. Another idea is to shape chenille stems into letters, then glue to the center of the flowers in place of the stamens, to create monogram flowers. Or why not spell out words for your party theme?
