Designed by Pattie Donham

Supplies:

Container to be covered (large ice cream tub, tin can, trash can)
Recycled Magazines
Glue Stick
Pencil
Hot Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
Scissors
Plastic Clothes Line

Pattie’s Pointer: Kids love these projects, but they are also very ‘retro’
for a college dorm, or teenager’s room.

Steps:
1. Cut colorful pages from magazines that have no text printed on the page.

2. Roll pages from corner to corner, around a pencil. Glue as you roll, with a glue stick to hold. Pull out pencil. Repeat rolling pages until you have enough to cover the sides of your container.

3. Hot glue rolled pages to the sides of the container, letting them protrude past the top and bottom of the container. Trim off the excess ends of the rolls with
scissors, for a neat edge.

4. Cut plastic clothes line into 3-inch lengths. Push first end of the plastic into the opening of one of the rolls. Skip the next roll, and push the other end of the plastic into the second roll from the first.

5. Push a second piece of plastic into the opening of the skipped roll, and push the other end of the plastic into the second roll from the first.

6. Push a third piece of plastic into the same roll as the end of the first piece of plastic, and push the other end into the second roll from the first. Continue around the top and bottom of container to complete.
