Pattie’s Tip: For you seamstresses with lots of great fabric scraps, why not fashion a patchwork bag together for a one-of-a-kind “designer” tote-bag. What a lovely idea for those hard-to-please ladies who “have everything” as
an especially nice gift from someone they love!

Steps:
1. Cut out bag and lining fabric according to your desires for size.
2. Iron fusible web to contrasting fabric strips. Peel paper backing and
iron to bag front according package directions. (Be sure to use a pressing
cloth to protect your beautiful fabrics.)
3. Sew beaded fringe and trims along edges of contrasting fabric strips.
4. Sew sides and bottom together of both the bag and the lining. The strap
will be hanging loose.
5. Turn bag right side out. Iron a 1/2 inch “hem” along all unfinished
edges.
Repeat ironing procedure on bag lining.
6. Place bag lining inside bag, matching ironed edges. Pin carefully into
place.
7. Top-stitch the two pieces together, around entire ironed edge.
8. Attach straps with two buttons and buttonholes, or sew into sides.
