Cute as a Button

Supplies:
Aleene’s Instant Decoupage Glue
Krylon Spray paint for base coat
Base piece (wood, metal, plastic, tin, paper mache, canvas, 
etc.)
Paintbrush
Scissors
Paper Design (gift wrap, paper scraps, greeting cards, posters, 
magazines, maps, etc.)
Decorative Pillow(s)
2 Wood Discs for each (5” or 3 1/2”)
Drill 
Cording or Ribbon (Narrow enough for upholstery needle)
8” Upholstery Needle

Pattie’s Pointer: Nursery Rhymes decoupaged on the buttons would be adorable 
for that new baby’s nursery!

Steps:
To begin: Drill 2 holes in each disc like a button.

1. If desired, base coat “button” with paint. Let dry.

2. Cut out design from paper to fit.

3. Brush decoupage glue onto “button” where cut out will be placed. 

4. Place paper over decoupage glue.

5. Brush decoupage glue over paper, sealing all edges.

6. Push out any bubbles with fingers, from the center out to the edges.

7. Punch through button holes and paper with upholstery needle. Sew front and back buttons onto pillow with ribbon using upholstery needle.
